The impetus behind the creation of TheCollectorsGroup.com was to build a site that’s friendly to the collector. It was the goal of the creators to create a site that stimulated energetic discussion about the hobby and the sports relating to the hobby, a place where collectors could meet to make trades and share their collections and most recent acquisitions, and, most importantly, a site that would be operated by like-minded people. Despite being less than a year old, The Collectors Group (or “TCG” as it is often called) has become a place full of people who have gotten to know each other beyond being simply parties to a trade or sale. It has also become, through its members, a wealth of knowledge and information about the hobby and collecting in general. TCG is not a company looking to make a profit off its members. In fact, TCG is its membership. It’s a place for the collector by the collector, and it’s the members that make the site.
